Important Information for CCAC Employees about Pension and ONA's Court Action
17 Oct 07 -- Dianne Leclair, Ontario Nurses' Association's (ONA's) Vice-President, Region 4 has begun a class action against the government of Ontario. ONA claims that that the government promised all CCAC employees who were once employees of municipal and other home-care service providers and who had to switch their pensions to the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) pension plan from the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Savings (OMERS), Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), or Family Services Association (FSA) plan -- that these employees would suffer no loss in pension benefits when they changed employers and started working for a CCAC. ONA believes that all of these employees have suffered a loss of pension benefits because the government did not fulfill its promise. If you may be affected by this action, it's important that you click on the following notice.
