Fees and Registration
Fees
ONA Workshops are free to ONA members: coffee is provided; lunch is not. Please note that meals, travel and salary reimbursement are dependant on Local policy.
ONA workshops are open to Non-ONA members on invitation by the Local at a cost of $100.00 per person per day.
As part of the strategic planning process, Local leaders identify the priority learning needs of that Local. The Board has recommended that each of ONA’s five regions develop an annual regional plan for education based on member-identified needs.
The ONA District Service Team (DST) is accountable for the logistics of the workshop (booking the location, audio/visual equipment, materials and provision of coffee at morning and afternoon breaks ). The DST works with the region / Local Coordinator(s) to plan the workshop.
Registration
To register, ONA members interested in attending workshops should contact their Local Coordinator or Bargaining Unit President for further information. A registration form is also available for download from a link at the top of this page.
Non-ONA members who are invited by the Local should contact the ONA Education Contact near you for information on how to register.
Pre-registration is required for workshops. The first step members should take in pre-registering is to notify their Local Coordinator or Bargaining Unit President or designate. Your leader's approval is necessary if you wish to be considered for reimbursement of Meals, Accommodation, Salary and Travel (MAST) as per Local Policy and Local Budget. Besides, leaders should also be aware of your education experience as they develop succession plans.
All workshops with three or more participants will proceed. We will provide coaching as an alternative for only one or two members. There are two exceptions to this rule; Due to the nature of the Effective Communications: Skills and Strategies workshop and Executive Skills II workshops, a minimum of 10 participants is required for these workshops to be effective. The DST will notify pre-registered members in the event of a workshop cancellation.
Members are asked to complete evaluation forms at all education sessions. This information is used by the DSTs and the PECT to evaluate the programs and identify future education needs.
