Legal Expense Assistance Plan (LEAP) and Malpractice Coverage

If you are interested in being covered by ONA's LEAP plan for representation at the College of Nurses of Ontario, inquests, etc., you will need to pay a one-time $36 fee. Please read more about ONA's LEAP plan here

In terms of malpractice coverage, you are currently covered by your employer for liability insurance. ONA provides additional secondary insurance (top up) to your employer's insurance. If you would like to be covered, you can pay a one-time payment of $36 which will provide ONA's coverage until dues deduction commences.

If you are interested in either the LEAP plan, the malpractice coverage or both, please complete a LEAP/Malpractice coverage form and submit it with the correct payment amount to:

Dues and Membership
Ontario Nurses' Association
85 Grenville Street, Suite 400
Toronto, ON  M5S 3A2

Once you are paying dues, your LEAP coverage will continue as part of your dues payment.

I would encourage any Halton ONA members to share this information with your ONA colleagues.

ONA looks forward to working with your Bargaining Unit leaders to improve your wages, benefits and working conditions!

In solidarity,

ONTARIO NURSES' ASSOCIATION

Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN
