Description:
Workshop Length: One Day

Purpose: To assist participants in recognizing the workplace parties' roles and responsibilities in the area of Modified/Early and Safe Return to Work (ESRTW) in order to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Focus:

  • Issue(s) around the early and safe return to work of an employee after illness/injury.
  • Overview of legislation affecting ESRTW including Human Rights Code , Workplace Safety and Insurance Act , Labour Relations Act and the collective agreement.
  • Identification of the parties' (the employer, union and employee) responsibilities when returning a member to work.
  • Recognition and development of strategies to deal with barriers to Modified / ESRTW

Who Should Attend: The workshop is designed for Local/ Bargaining Unit Executive members.
