Description:
Workshop Length: One Day
Purpose: To increase participants' awareness of their rights and responsibilities in relation to violence in the workplace.
Focus:
- Definitions of workplace violence and the rights related to a safe and harassment-free workplace
- Development of an awareness of the extent of violence and harassment in the workplace
- Development of an understanding of the necessary components of an employer's policy related to violence and harassment in the workplace
- The role of the union in dealing with workplace violence and harassment
- Strategies for preventing workplace violence and/or harassment
- Recommended processes to follow post-violence or harassment incident
Who Should Attend: This workshop is designed for general membership, bargaining unit leaders, unit representatives, Human Rights & Equity representatives, Occupational Health & Safety representatives.
