Labour Relations & Negotiations

Labour relations and negotiations are important parts of ONA’s role as your representative.

As members, your contract defines the parameters of your work.
As your union, it's our job to negotiate the best contracts possible.

We continuously strive to improve and enhance your work life.

Working Together

There are 24 bargaining units in this sub-sector. This group is made up of Canadian Blood Services, General Motors, Chrysler, Colleges and Universities, Family Health Teams and other clinics. The majority of our members in this sector are Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners.

Members in this sector have the right to strike if they reach an impasse in bargaining and their employers have the right to lock them out.
