The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is pleased to accept applications for attendance at our Leadership Summit – Advanced Stream. It is important for local executive teams to consider their Local/Bargaining Unit’s learning needs and consider which of their experienced leaders will be motivated and engaged by this kind of educational opportunity.

The conference will be held at Oakwood Resort, 70671 Bluewater Highway, Grand Bend, ON, N0M 1T0, September 16 – 20, 2019.

The Advanced Stream will provide a variety of workshops, activities and interactive educational experiences that will allow participants to build on their skill set in:

  • Labour relations with a focus on identifying best practices for challenges and process encountered in their bargaining units.
  • The value of communication skills and building effective teams at the Bargaining Unit level.
  • Conflict resolution within their teams and when dealing at the local level and with management.
  • Understanding how ONA provincial strategies affect their local and workplaces.

Participants will be given the opportunity to develop a group presentation reflecting their learnings and how they will use the information to inspire and engage other members in the theme "I’m In. Stronger Together.”

For each member accepted into the stream, the cost for meals and accommodations (approximately $700 per person) will be covered by ONA. Locals will be responsible for covering salary replacements and travel costs according to local policies. Meals and accommodation, from noon on Monday, September 16th through Friday, September 20th at 1130, will be funded centrally by ONA.

This stream is limited to a maximum of 25 registrants.
