Congratulations and thank you to everyone who showed there support and participated in our email campaign to get nurses included in the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) presumptive legislation!

The Ontario government has announced that it plans to increase first responder support to include all front-line nurses who provide direct patient care and suffer from PTSD by expediting their access to benefits, resources and timely treatment through the implementation of a presumption that PTSD is work-related. We will provide updates here when the government introduces the legislation in spring 2018.

We thank all of our members, staff, allies, and friends for their advocacy and dedication in supporting nurses who witness and experience traumatizing events in the course of their working lives.
