Professional Practice Teleconnect: Overcrowding is Not the New Norm!

During this 90-minute session, ONA’s Professional Practice Specialists will present on overcrowding in hospitals and the impact on patient care; the impact on patient surgeries; the use of non-traditional spaces; hallway care and ONA’s discussions with the government for the past 10 years; overcrowding of critically ill patients; increased hours and overtime; overcrowding and Registered Nurse burnout; quality of care; long-term care and overcrowding in hospitals; contributing factors to overcrowding; Ontario government funding; a review of the relevant College of Nurses’ standards; and some highlights of ONA’s achievements gained across the province.

This teleconnect will be of particular interest to ONA’s Bargaining Unit representatives, workload and professional responsibility representatives, Bargaining Unit Presidents and Local Coordinators, and front-line members.
