Due to the large number of new Secretaries, this session is a partial repeat of the information provided in the 2017 teleconnect. This session will cover the role and accountabilities of a Secretary, the importance of maintaining membership records and related documents and how this will support Local and (indirectly) provincial elections. There will also be reference to some tools to support the Secretary in completing work efficiently and effectively.
The target audiences for this teleconnect are new Local Secretaries and any Secretary interested in a “refresher” of previous information provided. It may also be of interest to those who could be in the role of mentoring Secretaries (i.e., Local Coordinators), and those who are possibly involved in election processes to learn about maintaining and/or updating membership information.
