Past Teleconnect: Discrimination and Pregnancy – Baby Steps

This presentation will assist ONA members with understanding discrimination on the basis of sex and the protections offered under the Ontario Human Rights Code, specifically as they relate to becoming and being pregnant. The legal landscape with respect to issues arising before pregnancy, during pregnancy and post-pregnancy will be reviewed.
This session will provide an overview of the development of the law on the duty to accommodate employees who require accommodation on the basis of sex, as well as practical examples and strategies for successful accommodation of these members.
