ONA Welcomes New Members from Park Lane Terrace Long-Term Care Home

February 12, 2019

PARIS, Ont., February 12, 2019 – The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is delighted to announce that the Registered Nurses from Park Lane Terrace Long-Term Care home have voted unanimously to join ONA.

“We are honoured that the Registered Nurses (RNs) from this Paris, Ontario long-term care home have voted yes to join our Union,” said ONA President Vicki McKenna, RN.

“ONA looks forward to representing these dedicated RNs, who are so committed to providing the best care possible to their residents. Our new members work to provide the care their residents need and deserve,” she said.

McKenna notes that ONA members have access to a wide range of services and expertise. The Park Lane Terrace RNs are concerned about staffing levels they believe are necessary to be able to provide that care. The RNs say there has been a lack of stability in management and they are concerned about their own ability to meet their professional standards due to short staffing.

For more information about joining ONA, please email: organizer@ona.org or call: 1 800 387-5580 and ask to speak with an Organizer. All conversations will be kept confidential.

ONA is the union representing more than 65,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
