ONA Welcomes North York General Hospital Respiratory Therapists

January 31, 2020

TORONTO, January 31, 2020 – The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is delighted to welcome new members from North York General Hospital.

“Respiratory Therapists (RTs) at North York General Hospital have overwhelmingly voted to join ONA, and we are delighted to represent them,” said ONA President Vicki McKenna, RN.

“These hard-working, highly skilled RTs have tried to advocate for safer staffing levels and safer working conditions,” she said. “They are working with more acute patients, have heavier workloads, and work in more areas of the hospital than ever before. They are concerned about providing high-quality care. ONA’s expertise will help them to address these concerns.”

For more information about joining ONA, please email: organizer@ona.org or call: 1-800-387-5580 and ask to speak with an organizer. All conversations will be kept confidential.

ONA is the union representing more than 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
