CFNU Partners with Wellness Together Canada
November 26, 2020
The CFNU has developed a toolkit to promote Wellness Together Canada, the first publicly-funded free virtual service providing mental health and substance use support for people of all ages.
Wellness Together Canada provides a “stepped care” model where Canadians can be instantly connected to virtual mental health services – from a five-minute self-assessment to extensive support and resources, to live phone, video or text counselling with a mental health professional or crisis responder. The model is supported by Kids Help Phone and Homewood Health, which bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in providing virtual mental health services.
In response to the unprecedented rise in mental distress during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada has been funding the portal.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, nurses and health-care workers in Canada were experiencing high levels of mental disorder symptoms. As you can imagine, the pandemic has only worsened these symptoms.
The CFNU is recognizing the heightened distress of nurses and health-care workers and has partnered with Wellness Together Canada to promote their services.
Free Support Available 24/7
Users can access the service at any time by going to WellnessTogether.ca.
