Exploring Hepatitis C Testing and Treatment Barriers Among People Who Inject Drugs

April 24, 2017

Monika Roerig and Dr. Ketan Shankardass of Wilfrid Laurier University, working in partnership with Sanguen Health Centre, Peel HIV/AIDS Network (PHAN), and Bloom Clinic, would like to invite you to participate in a study investigating hepatitis C testing and treatment barriers among people who inject drugs.

This study will be conducted in both the Waterloo and Peel Regions for a comparative analysis. They are looking to speak with: (i) 10 adults (18+) who identify as being a current or former injection drug user who has sought hepatitis C testing and/or treatment, and (ii) 10 health care providers (physicians and nurses) who have interacted with this population.

"Since the patient-provider relationship is important in governing overall patient health outcomes, we value the voice of physicians and nurses as we investigate this topic."
