The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is pleased to accept applications for attendance at our Leadership Summit – Novice Stream. It is important for local executive teams to consider their Local/Bargaining Unit’s learning needs and consider which of their experienced leaders will be motivated and engaged by this kind of educational opportunity.
The conference will be held at Oakwood Resort, 70671 Bluewater Highway, Grand Bend, ON, N0M 1T0, September 16 – 20, 2019.
The Novice Stream will provide a variety of workshops, activities and interactive educational experiences that focus on:
- The history and structure of ONA in relation to services offered and ONA’s Communication Pathways
- Services offered by the Union with a focus on emerging issues including grievances, health and safety, human rights and professional practice
Participants will be given the opportunity to develop a group presentation reflecting their learnings and how they will use the information to inspire and engage other members in the theme "I’m In. Stronger Together.”
For each member accepted into the stream, the cost for meals and accommodations (approximately $700 per person) will be covered by ONA. Locals will be responsible for covering salary replacements and travel costs according to local policies. Meals and accommodation, from noon on Monday, September 16th through Friday, September 20th at 1130, will be funded centrally by ONA.
This stream is limited to a maximum of 25 registrants.
